Review: We Are Okay

We Are Okay We Are Okay by Nina LaCour
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

I really liked the descriptions and atmosphere of the book, but the big mystery was a bit of a let down and overall ended up being a very simple story. I guess I expected more, but it was a sweet story.

Review: Isadora

Isadora Isadora by Charlotte McConaghy
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Great conclusion to a great story. Charlotte always gets me to tear up at least once in every book, and this one didn't disappoint.

Review: Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide

Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide by Nicholas D. Kristof
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Was good for some specific examples of how women are treated in third world countries. But in my opinion this is mainly ethnocentric, can feel 'preachy', and unnecessarily political at times.

Review: The Horse Goddess

The Horse Goddess The Horse Goddess by Morgan Llywelyn
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed this book and am compelled to read some of the other author's works. Morgan Llywelyn brings the ancient world to life with descriptions of their daily lives and homes, but also delving into their religious and spiritual beliefs, which helps bring their lost cultures to life.
